Sadyr Japarov meets with Vice President of Total Energies Renewables

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov met with Vice President of Total Energies Renewables Fabienne Demol, representing the division of implementation of green energy projects at Total Energies. The press service of the head of state reported.

Total Energies is a French oil and gas company, one of the largest in the world, headquartered in Paris. The company operates in more than 130 countries. It is engaged in the production of oil, gas, oil refining, owns a network of gas stations and a number of enterprises in the chemical industry and other industries, energy industry in the field of renewable energy sources.

Over the past few years, Total Energies has significantly increased its production capacity through a series of targeted projects in the renewable energy sector (solar, wind, hydropower). The company’s goal is to reach 100 gigawatts of gross installed renewable electricity generation capacity by 2030.

Sadyr Japarov stated the readiness of the Kyrgyz side to cooperate with Total Energies, which is one of the largest oil and gas companies in the world. In particular, given its extensive experience not only in field development, oil and gas production, refining and synthesis, production of a wide range of chemical products, but also in the construction of generating power plants.

Sadyr Japarov proposed to open a branch of Total Energies in Kyrgyzstan.

In turn, Fabienne Demol noted the intention to actively cooperate with Kyrgyzstan in the implementation of joint projects for the construction of renewable energy facilities, as well as to improve the capacity of specialists in the energy sector of the country. She also said that an expert group of technical specialists would be sent to Kyrgyzstan for detailed study of the planned objectives.

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Ministry of Energy of the Kyrgyz Republic and Total Energies Renewables SA.
