90-day stay limit for Russians applies to people without registration in KR

The procedure for registration and obtaining other permits giving the right to stay on the territory of Kyrgyzstan has not changed. The Ministry of Digital Development informed 24.kg news agency.

The mechanism for counting the duration of stay under the visa-free regime that came into force in connection with the adoption of «Regulations on the procedure for the stay of foreign citizens on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic» applies only to those foreigners who avoid obtaining the appropriate permits.

«For citizens of the EAEU countries, there will be a limitation period of 90 days in the absence of registration on the territory of the republic/possession of a residence permit or Meken card, as well as the status of «kairylman» or «digital nomad,» the ministry said.

Citizens of the CIS and EAEU countries are registered, as before, for a period not exceeding six months, with the right to further extend registration depending on the purpose of stay.

Along with the introduction of a new procedure for the stay of foreigners, the relevant authorities of the Kyrgyz Republic are considering further simplification of procedures for issuing permits.

«As changes are adopted, information will be shared with the public. For foreigners who have been registered, the situation will not change in accordance with current regulations,» the Ministry of Digital Development assured.

The new requirements do not apply to citizens of the EAEU and the CIS who come to the territory of Kyrgyzstan and register within 30 days. This means that the 90/180 stay period does not apply to them, according to which they can stay for a total of 90 days within 180 days.

But citizens of the EAEU and the CIS who enter and leave the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic for a short period of time, that is, before the deadline for registration (up to 30 days), can stay in the territory of Kyrgyzstan for a total of up to 90 days (each entry — departure will be recorded) every 180 days.
