Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and EU to meet in 5+27 format

The Foreign Affairs Minister of Kyrgyzstan Jeenbek Kulubaev will participate in the upcoming meeting of Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the European Union. The press service of the Foreign Affairs Ministry reported.

Jeenbek Kulubaev will participate in the ministerial meeting of Central Asia and the European Union, which will be held on October 23, 2023 in Luxembourg. The event will be attended by Foreign Ministers of Central Asia and the European Union in 5+27 format.

The event in this format will be held for the first time.

It is noted that the purpose of the meeting is to outline plans for the development of regional cooperation, as well as to exchange views on topical issues on the global and regional agendas.

Within the meeting, Jeenbek Kulubaev plans to meet with colleagues from Luxembourg, Austria, Finland, Denmark, as well as the European Commissioner for International Partnerships to discuss issues of «enhancing and deepening both bilateral and multilateral cooperation».

The U.S. President Joseph Biden earlier met in New York with the Presidents of Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan at the first presidential summit in C5+1 format on the sidelines of the session of UN General Assembly.

The President of Germany also met with Central Asian leaders. The meeting was attended by Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov, Kazakhstan Kasym-Jomart Tokayev, Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the national leader of the Turkmen people, Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov.

It was also reported that the official Tokyo initiates Central Asia — Japan summit in 2024.
