The restrictions on the visa-free regime for foreigners do not apply to citizens of the Russian Federation.
The abolition of the possibility of multiple «zeroing» of the period of stay in the country by a short-term travel outside its borders for foreign citizens will not be applied to Russians according to the law of the Kyrgyz Republic, which is posted on the website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Russian citizens can stay in the country without a visa for an unlimited period.
It was reported on October 17 that the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic decided to abolish the practice in which foreign citizens often travel outside the country and return back in order to extend their stay on the territory of the republic. Now citizens of countries that, by law, can stay in Kyrgyzstan for 60 days without a visa, after leaving, will be able to enter back only after 60 days. The situation will be similar with the 90-day visa-free period. These restrictions, according to the Foreign Ministry, are being introduced in order to ensure more effective management of migration flows and improve the overall security in the country.
