Kyrgyzstan exported 7.7 tons of gold for $545.1 million from January to August 2023. The National Statistical Committee provided the data.
In just a month, the figure increased 1.2 times, or by 1.3 tons. At the same time, in 2022, during the same period, only 65.4 kilograms of gold were delivered for $667,300.
Current data on gold exports are 133 (!) times higher than last year’s level.
Switzerland accounts for the main volume of precious metal exports. At least 7.1 tons were supplied there for $448.4 million. Data for seven months of 2023 showed exports of 5.9 tons.
It turns out that for a month the Kyrgyz Republic exported almost 1.2 tons of gold to Switzerland.
In addition, the republic supplied 983.3 kilograms of the precious metal for $60 million to Hong Kong and 582.7 kilograms for $36.6 million to the United Arab Emirates.
In 2022, almost the entire volume of gold for the first eight months of the year was exported to Turkey. There were no deliveries to this country this year.
