The crime boss Kamchi Kolbaev (Kamchybek Asanbek) was detained and taken to the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS). The special operation near Uchkun building in Bishkek has been completed.
According to preliminary data, one of the special forces soldiers was seriously wounded during the shootout. Kamchi Kolbaev was not injured.
However, the SCNS does not comment on this information.
The Ministry of Health told 24.kg news agency that there are three ambulances on site.
The Minister of Health Alymkadyr Beishenaliev and the Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev were at the place of detention.
It was reported in August 2023 that the criminal case against Kamchi Kolbaev was terminated due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.
«The crime boss Kamchybek Asanbek was suspected of creating a transnational criminal organization in Kazakhstan. Since the crime was committed in 2007-2009, the statute of limitations for bringing him to criminal responsibility has expired. In this regard, the SCNS stopped the investigation of the criminal case,» it was reported.
Kamchi Kolbaev was detained on October 21, 2020. He was handed a notice of suspicion under the article «Creation of a criminal organization or participation in it» of the Criminal Code of the Kyrgyz Republic. By decision of the Bishkek City Court, the crime boss was released on his own recognizance. The SCNS explained that the preventive measure for Kolbaev was changed due to the fact that the suspect’s relatives transferred 49.6 million soms to a deposit account.
