The main building of the Infectious Diseases Hospital in Bishkek was closed for repairs. The press center of the Ministry of Health of Kyrgyzstan reported.
Major repairs of the three-story building will be carried out within the framework of Emergency Response to COVID-19 project, funded by the World Bank.
«It is planned to carry out finishing works of the premises with replacement of doors, flooring, sewage, water pipes and heating radiators. Electrical wires will be replaced, and new showers and toilets will be installed in the wards. A system of supply and exhaust ventilation will be installed in the building,» the ministry said.
During the renovation, children with acute respiratory viral infections will be sent to the National Center for Maternal and Child Welfare and the City Children’s Clinical Emergency Hospital.
«Our hospital is designed for 400 patients. Perhaps there will be inconveniences, because we admit everyone with infectious pathology, including patients in grave condition. Capital repairs have not been carried out in the building since it was put into operation. It is extremely necessary. We hope that patients will take this situation with understanding,» Gulzhigit Aaliyev, Director of the Infectious Diseases Hospital, said.
