Industrial cooperation of CIS countries to be discussed in Bishkek

A meeting of the Council on Industrial Policy of the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) will be held in Bishkek on September 28-29. Deputy Minister of Economy and Commerce, Ainura Usenbekova, announced at a briefing.

According to her, the need for industrial cooperation among the CIS countries has been discussed for a long time. It has been decided to create a separate working group that will propose the formation of potential cooperation projects between the Commonwealth states.

«At the council meeting we will also discuss what areas in the industrial sector can be developed in the future. There were also proposals to prioritize cooperation. There are states among the CIS countries that are more developed in one or another area of industry. Others, on the contrary, need to increase their potential. We will separately consider issues regarding the development of the chemical industry. Russia is technologically ahead in this direction. The issue of joint work to improve human resources in this area is being studied,» Ainura Usenbekova said.

She also noted that the Council on Industrial Policy will study the issue of waste recycling, the possibility of cooperation and development of the shipbuilding sector, issues of energy security, development of mechanical engineering and the production of electric vehicles.

«Previously, there was also a question about updating the contractual framework of the CIS countries. We have done this work. We will consider the results of the primary analysis at the meeting,» Ainura Usenbekova concluded.
