The Ministry of Energy, together with the City Hall, is working on a ban on the sale and burning of Kara-Keche coal in Bishkek. Deputy Minister of Energy Taalaibek Baigaziev confirmed this information to 24.kg news agency.
According to him, it is planned to replace solid fuel from Kara-Keche with imported high-quality high-calorie coal. Preliminarily, it will be Kazakh fuel. In addition to high calorie content, there is a condition that it costs no more than 6,000 soms. It may be Karazhyra, Shabyrkul or Zhalyn coal.
«We already have agreements with Kazakh suppliers. Deliveries will begin approximately from mid-September, because the demand of the population for the solid fuel is not high now,» Taalaibek Baigaziev said.
He noted that coal from Kara-Keche field will be delivered to Chui, Naryn and Issyk-Kul regions. Kyrgyzkomur first of all transports it to the districts of Naryn region, where winter begins earlier. In addition, work is underway to supply solid fuel to boiler houses and utilities.
The Deputy Minister of Energy confirmed that Kyrgyzstan will nevertheless impose a ban on the export of domestic coal. «The resolution on this issue is now at the stage of coordination and signing,» he concluded.
