The joint Kyrgyz-Kazakh special tactical exercises Erdik ended in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Defense reported.
The military personnel of Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan participated in the exercises.
«Participants worked out joint actions to destroy illegal armed groups. According to the legend of the exercises, an UAV detects a field camp of militants. The commander decides to destruct the militants. To determine the site and organize an ambush, reconnaissance of the area is carried out, after which a tactical assault force lands in helicopters. A mobile mortar platoon inflicts fire damage on the base camp. Army aviation and Mi-8 MTV helicopters supported the main forces’ entry into the battle. Then the tactical airborne troops landed and the the training camp for militants was destroyed,» the ministry said.
The Ministry of Defense noted that during the exercises, the military personnel of both countries demonstrated high maneuverability, swiftness and prompt landing of tactical airborne troops from Mi-8MTV helicopters.
The ministry said that the exercises were held for the first time on the territory of Kyrgyzstan. About 300 military personnel of the Armed Forces of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan, more than 30 units of special, aviation equipment and artillery participated in the exercises.
