An agreement was signed between the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan and the People’s Government of the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region on expanding cooperation between the postal services of the two countries. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reported.
The document was adopted to develop cross-border e-commerce and enhance the promotion of expedited mail passage and to speed up the process of border control over international mail and the transportation of goods of international e-commerce. To speed up the transportation and passage through the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border of international postal items and goods of cross-border electronic commerce, the parties determine the «method of accelerated mail passage».
The method of expedited mail passage is the first and priority procedure for transporting and passing through the border along the route «Places of international postal exchange of Kyrgyz Pochtasy open joint-stock company in Bishkek to the «Places of international postal exchange China Post» on the territory of Kashgar free economic zone in Xinjiang- Uyghur Autonomous Region and back of international mail and goods of cross-border e-commerce.
«The parties support the creation of postal exchange places, exchange points, as well as other basic infrastructure institutions to ensure the uninterrupted processes of receiving and processing the sending of postal items. The agreement opens up prospects for joint work with the PRC on the development of e-commerce, given that the PRC has made significant progress in cross-border e-commerce and has accumulated valuable experience and knowledge,» the statement says.
