Batch of tractors from Uzbekistan to be delivered to Kyrgyzstan

An agreement was reached on the delivery to Kyrgyzstan of a test batch of tractors (TAT 90) produced in Uzbekistan. The Ministry of Economy and Commerce reported following the 10th meeting of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Bilateral Cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

The parties agreed that Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan will provide maximum assistance in opening trading houses in Bishkek and Tashkent to build up trade potential. The Uzbek side noted its readiness to facilitate the participation of Kyrgyzstan in the project Termez International Trade Center. It is both a shopping complex and a free trade zone.

«Thanks to its location, Termez International Center provides an opportunity to increase the volume and intensity of foreign trade not only with Uzbekistan, but also with the countries of Central and South Asia (Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Iran with access to seaports). The parties are implementing a joint project to organize the assembly of automotive and commercial vehicles in Kyrgyzstan. The Commission noted with satisfaction the work done to build up cooperation in the field of industrial cooperation. Taking into account the commissioning of the plant in September this year, the Kyrgyz side confirmed adoption of the relevant decision to provide the previously agreed preferences and a simplified certification procedure in accordance with the legislation of the parties and undertaken international obligations as part of the implementation of the project for the production of cars and commercial vehicles in Chui region,» the statement says.

In addition, the Ministry of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic and Uztekstilprom Association will consider the possibility of creating joint textile clusters for the production of finished products with high added value and its further export to third-country markets.
