Kumtor Operating Company CJSC has been granted the right to develop Togolok gold deposit. The head of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov signed the corresponding order on August 4.
The field is located in Jeti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region on the border with China and covers an area of 42.2 hectares.
The company is also granted the right to conduct exploration work at the gold deposit of Dzhangart area. It is located in Jeti-Oguz district of Issyk-Kul region on an area of 10,379.8 hectares.
The Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology and Technical Supervision was instructed to issue licenses.
«There is Togolok gold deposit located 30 kilometers from Kumtor mine. There are about 100 tons of gold there. Let’s do some geological research and join it too. In addition, there are deposits Andash, Taldy-Bulak in Talas, in Naryn — Zhetim-Too. There is a large deposit Bala-Chychkan. I am a project manager. We intend to invite a foreign team, gather excellent guys here and develop them,» the former external manager of Kumtor, Tengiz Bolturuk, told about the plans earlier.
