International camp for children learning Russian opened in Issyk-Kul region

An international camp «First» for children learning Russian was opened in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan.

According to the organizers, during two shifts, which will end on August 26, about 360 children and teenagers aged from seven to eighteen will visit the camp.

The camp, which was opened on the shore of Issyk-Kul lake, is designed to interest participants from five CIS countries in learning the Russian language and culture of Russia. Denis Gribov, Deputy Head of the Russian Ministry of Education, greeted all those who arrived at the camp. He noted the importance of the camp for promoting the Russian language and culture among the youth.

The program includes interactive classes, master classes, exhibitions, exciting excursions and competitions on the topic of Russian culture and history.

As part of the project, children will get acquainted with the sights, cuisine, art and traditions of the country. Sports and entertainment programs are also planned. Well-known Russian artists, employees of universities and children’s centers of the country will come to the camp to meet with children.

The children’s camp was organized by the Institute of Contemporary Social and Humanitarian Research at the expense of a grant from the Russian Ministry of Education.
