The law was adopted by the Parliament on May 24, 2023 to optimize and improve the legislative framework in the field of migration, as well as to bring it into line with the Constitution and eliminate gaps and contradictions in the legislation in the field of migration.
The law provides for the introduction of a unified system for registration of external migration in the republic. It will include information on registration and control of the entry / exit of persons across the state border, issuance of visas and work permits, temporary and permanent residence permits to foreign citizens and stateless persons, as well as their registration at the place of stay (residence) in the territory Kyrgyzstan and registration of notarized petitions issued by legal representatives of minors for departure from the country.
In addition, stateless persons staying in the territory of Kyrgyzstan will have the opportunity to obtain a stateless person certificate as a document proving their identity and confirming the status of a stateless person.
