Construction of solar power plant planned in Toru-Aigyr

Director of the National Investment Agency of Kyrgyzstan Umbriel Temiraliev inspected the construction site of Kun Bulagy solar power plant with a capacity of 50 megawatts. Press service of the organization reported.

The project is being implemented on the territory of Toru-Aigyr rural area in Issyk-Kul region. The total investment is over $35 million. The project is being implemented by Kun Bulagy LLC together with the Kazakh company TGS-Energy Limited.

«The project is one of the first in Kyrgyzstan in the field of renewable energy. Its implementation will help increase the production of electricity in the country and partially cover domestic demand. Earlier, the company won a tender for a land plot with a total area of 80 hectares in Toru-Aigyr. To date, the investor has developed a feasibility study for the project and received preliminary technical conditions from National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan JSC. The company carried out engineering-geological and engineering-geodetic surveys. In the near future, after paying for agricultural losses and lost profits, as well as concluding an agreement with the rural administration, the company will deliver equipment and begin construction of the facility,» the National Investment Agency said.
