Demolition of Batumi café: SCNS opens case against City Hall employees

The State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) opened a criminal case against employees of the Bishkek City Hall over the demolition of Batumi cafe. Own sources informed 24.kg news agency.

The case was opened on the fact of abuse of office and deliberate destruction of property committed during demolition of Batumi cafe.

«It is known that violations have been detected on both sides. In particular, the cafe owners illegally used the parking lot. As for the episode with the City Hall, the SCNS believes that officials dismantled it using heavy equipment, in fact destroying other people’s property. The employees of the City Hall did not give the owners of the cafe an opportunity to eliminate the detected violations,» the sources said.

City services demolished Batumi cafe in Dzhal microdistrict of the capital. The cafe was located on Tynaliev Street, its total area was 1,300 square meters. The City Hall noted that by the decision of the commission for granting lease rights to land plots, Estound LLC was refused extension of the lease agreement. The head of the SCNS, Kamchybek Tashiev, arrived at the scene on behalf of the president and instructed the security services to look into the situation. Kadicha Bechelova and her lawyers demand to prosecute the Vice Mayor of the capital Nurdan Oruntaev.
