COVID-19: France donates Pfizer vaccine to Kyrgyzstan

Government of France donated 20,160 doses of COVID-19 Pfizer vaccine to Kyrgyzstan. Press center of the Ministry of Health reported.

According to it, the assistance was transferred as part of the global COVAX initiative aimed at providing booster doses for the vaccinated population.

«The main goal of our work is to protect the population from serious illness when infected with the virus that causes COVID-19, and significantly reduce the risk of infection. Achievement of 70 percent coverage of the total population with vaccination will help bring us closer to herd immunity. I am sure that together we will be able to resist the coronavirus pandemic,» Gulbara Ishenapysova, director of the Republican Immunoprophylaxis Center, said.

Earlier, with the support of UNICEF, specialized equipment was purchased, delivered and installed in the republic, designed to store Pfizer vaccines at ultra-low temperatures down to −85 degrees Celsius.
