Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov visited cultural facilities in Bishkek. Press service of the Cabinet reported.
Akylbek Japarov started his morning tour from the Russian Drama Theater named after Chingiz Aitmatov. He noted the poor condition of the outer part of the building, which is undergoing reconstruction. The head of the Cabinet instructed to repair not only the interior of the theater, but also to pay attention to its appearance and the surrounding area.
Then he walked along Mikhail Frunze Street to the National Library named after Alykul Osmonov. The results of the competition for the construction and improvement of the territory of the former building of the Prosecutor General’s Office were summed up there.
Akylbek Japarov stressed the significance of the project and added that the winning company needs to take into account many factors, including its location near the central Ala-Too square.
«The most important thing is the quality of the building under construction and its compliance with safety requirements. The central square of Ala-Too and all the buildings located near it should form a single composition, this is the image of our capital,» he said, noting that the project should not become a long term construction project.
The head of the Cabinet also assessed the condition of the pedestrian sidewalks of the city and was dissatisfied with it.
«Look at those holes. How can people with disabilities, mothers with prams, move along them? Put them in order, it is necessary to create conditions for comfortable living of people,» he noted and instructed the mayor to calculate the costs for the repair of pedestrian sidewalks in Bishkek.
