«This growing import of goods to Kyrgyzstan at last year end is actually a re-export,» ADB economist Jules Hugot said on Tuesday.
According to him, there is insufficient reporting to date, in particular on exports. Import of goods is recorded, but export is recorded not so good, so the supplies are not visible in the trade balance.
«This is parallel import. We have two options for the development of events. If there are no secondary sanctions, then the Russian economy will gradually decline and the demand for this parallel import will also decline. The second moment — a shorter route for the delivery of goods will be created. As soon as importers find shorter supply routes, this re-export will decrease,» Jules Hugot said.
