The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Kyrgyzstan informed about the work of the consular service and the situation with the issuance of visas.
Earlier, deputies of the Parliament complained that Kyrgyz drivers were having difficulties in obtaining visas to China.
As the diplomatic mission notes, starting from July 1, 2018, China launched an online system for filling out a visa application form and making an appointment in all consular offices of the PRC in the world. All applicants must fill in the visa application form and make an appointment through this system.
«Given the possible large number of citizens of Kyrgyzstan waiting for visas to China after the pandemic, the Chinese Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic fully resumed regular consular reception from January 9, 2023, allocating additional consular employees, increasing the reception schedule and appointment opportunities. In the first two months of the new year alone, the embassy issued more than 1,200 visas, including more than 1,000 driver’s visas, which is 50 percent more compared to the same period in 2019. This helped to ensure an increase in cargo traffic between China and Kyrgyzstan,» the diplomatic mission informed.
The Chinese Embassy expressed regret that the deputy of the Parliament, without confirming the fact, unreasonably spread fake information in the media. It «is not in line with the high-level friendly spirit of Chinese-Kyrgyz relations and may cause negative influence among the Kyrgyz public.» The Chinese side opposes such actions.
«China and Kyrgyzstan are good neighbors, good friends, reliable partners and brothers. The Chinese Embassy in Kyrgyzstan always pays great attention to the exchange between China and Kyrgyzstan and will continue to make every effort to strengthen cooperation between our two countries,» the statement says.
