Tajikistan to join unified energy system of Central Asia

Tajikistan will fully connect to the single energy ring of Central Asia at the beginning of 2023. The Deputy Minister of Energy and Water Resources of the republic, Jamshed Shoimzoda, announced at a press conference.

According to him, connection to some lines, as well as the export of electricity to neighboring countries, including Uzbekistan, have already begun in the south and north of the republic. Shoimzoda said that the implementation of this plan was influenced by many factors — the Tajik side at the same time pays special attention to the security and stability of the unified system.

This is due to the fact that at the beginning of 2022, a failure occurred in the unified energy center of Central Asia, as a result of which most of Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan were left without electricity.

With this in mind, every effort is being made to ensure the security of the energy ring together with partners.

Earlier, the Minister of Energy and Water Resources of Tajikistan, Daler Juma, said that connection to the unified energy system would be carried out through high-voltage power lines. To do this, trained specialists will use the latest technological developments.
