Agricultural production in Kyrgyzstan grows by 6.4 percent - EEC

Agricultural production in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) at farms of all categories in January-November 2022 increased by 5.1 percent compared to the same period in 2021 — to $154.8 billion. The Department of Statistics of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) reports.

According to it, the following growth was registered in:

  • Kazakhstan — 8.5 percent;
  • Kyrgyzstan — 6.4 percent;
  • Russia — 4.7 percent;
  • Belarus — 3.5 percent;
  • Armenia — 0.5 percent.

«The positive dynamics is associated with an increased harvest of basic agricultural crops, primarily cereals and legumes, which is due to an increase in productivity. Production of the main types of livestock products also increased,» the EEC reported.

As for production of the main livestock products, the growth reached 2.5 percent in livestock and poultry for slaughter (live weight) sector, milk — by 1.3 percent, eggs — by 2.6 percent. Growth in the first category was registered in the Russian Federation, Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan.

Egg production increased by 8.3 percent in the Kyrgyz Republic.
