Russians are denied residence permits in Turkey

Russians are denied residence permits in Turkey. Media report.

Since December 26, Russians, who have applied for a residence permit in Turkey, have faced problems. As several Russians who now live in Fethiye, Izmir and Kas told reporters, those who were supposed to submit documents and be interviewed at the foreigner’s affairs department were canceled, and those who came for a residence permit were denied.

Telegram channels dedicated to moving to Turkey also report about mass denial of resident permits for Russians. According to those who have encountered this problem, the official reason is the lack of an apostilled certificate of remote work and salary from the employer.

It is also indicated that changes in the rules for applying for a primary Turkish residence permit came into force on December 26. According to the changes, if a Russian works remotely, he or she must provide an apostilled document confirming their monthly income from the company where they work. Officially, the new rules for obtaining a residence permit have not yet been reported.
