When it comes to the unused potential, then Kyrgyzstan can increase its exports to Russia by 20 percent, which is about $400 million. Sergey Sinelnikov-Murylev, Rector of the Russian Foreign Trade Academy, Doctor of Economic Sciences, announced this during a round table discussion.
According to him, the economy of Kyrgyzstan has been actively growing this year. This also happened thanks to trade. At the same time, Russia is one of the main trading partners of Kyrgyzstan. It accounts for more than 30 percent of trade turnover. Kyrgyzstan has the potential for growth in precisely those areas, in which the republic supplies goods even now. These are agricultural and processed agricultural products. An increase in output in this direction amounted to 6 percent this year.
«There is potential in textiles. Taking into account the withdrawal of many companies from Russia, textile products from Kyrgyzstan was met well in the Russian Federation. Both trade in these goods and production in Kyrgyzstan have grown. As part of solving the problems of supply of critical imports through Kyrgyzstan, goods from the «Machinery and equipment» category are supplied. This is a kind of parallel import. Introduction of these goods into circulation in Kyrgyzstan allows them to be used throughout the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, including in Russia,» Sergey Sinelnikov-Murylev said.
