The results of the work of the parliamentary commission on a loan in the amount of €22 million, which the EBRD allocated for the construction of a waste treatment plant, will be sent to the Security Council. Deputy Mirlan Samiykozho announced at a meeting of the Parliament of Kyrgyzstan.
According to him, law enforcement agencies cannot take measures for the inappropriate use of funds allocated for the construction of the plant.
«Five criminal cases have been initiated, two have been brought to court, one is under investigation, and the defendants in two cases have been put on the wanted list. An office with an area of 270 square meters was built for 10 million soms, a tractor was bought for €387,000. But this tractor has not been working for three years, as repairs are required, which will cost €30,000. Neither the Ministry of Internal Affairs, nor the prosecutor’s office, nor the Accounts Chamber were able to make specific decisions on this case. Therefore, we propose to consider the issue at the level of the Security Council,» Mirlan Samiykozho said.
He noted that the landfill has been posing a sanitary and epidemiological threat not only to the surrounding area, but also to the capital. «The total area of the landfill is 75 hectares. 300 vehicles go there every day,» added Mirlan Samiykozho.
Parliament supported the decision of the commission.
