The volume of export-import operations between Kyrgyzstan and Russia this year increased by 36.8 percent. Speaker of the Parliament Nurlanbek Shakiev said this at a meeting with the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Kyrgyz Republic Nikolai Udovichenko.
«Over nine months of this year, the volume of trade between Kyrgyzstan and Russia reached $2.23 billion, which is 36.8 percent more compared to the same period last year. This is, of course, only the start. We are striving to further strengthen economic ties with Russia as our main trading partner,» Nurlanbek Shakiev said.
According to him, Kyrgyzstan is interested in the comprehensive development of the strategic partnership established with Russia.
«Our interstate relations are distinguished by mutual trust and historical ties. We need to continue to build up cooperation in all areas and actively develop partnership within the framework of such international organizations as the EAEU, the SCO, the CIS,» he said.
In turn, the Russian Ambassador assured that the parties paid special attention to cooperation «in the fields of economy, medicine, culture, as well as in the field of emergency response and security.»
«In addition, he said that major projects in the field of education were being developed in Kyrgyzstan, construction of schools was planned. The Ambassador also outlined good results in the tourism sector this year, adding that a large number of direct flights contributed to this,» the press service of the Parliament informed.
