Natural Resources Ministry receives $50 million loan from World Bank

The Ministry of Natural Resources of Kyrgyzstan received a $50 million loan from the World Bank. The head of the ministry, Dinara Kutmanova, announced at a meeting of the parliamentary committee on agrarian policy, water resources, ecology and regional development.

She noted that the loan was interest-free and was provided with payment break for 10 years.

«These are very good loan conditions. We will repay in equal installments after 10 years. The components are distributed as follows: Bishkek City Hall will receive $16 million for irrigation and $34 million will be used to equip Kyrgyzhydromet. A part will be spent on equipping the coal quality control laboratory,» Dinara Kutmanova said.

Bishkek again topped the World Air Quality rating of the largest cities in the world in terms of air pollution on Sunday. The capital of Kyrgyzstan took the first place with «very unhealthy» air quality index. Officials promise to solve the problem year after year, but nothing is done.
