Sadyr Japarov and Vladimir Putin make joint statement

Presidents of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov and Russia Vladimir Putin made a joint statement on cooperation in the field of ensuring international information security. Press service of the head of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The statement says that the heads of state are concerned about the spread of unsubstantiated accusations of computer attacks made against individual countries.

«The Presidents of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Russian Federation call on the entire international community to resolve disputes in the information sphere by peaceful means and express readiness for dialogue with all states on this issue. Sadyr Japarov and Vladimir Putin stand for the prevention and peaceful settlement of interstate conflicts that may arise as a result of the use of information and communication technologies to carry out actions in the global information space that impede the maintenance of international peace, security and stability, for terrorist and other criminal purposes, as well as for undermining the sovereignty, violating the territorial integrity of states and interfering in their internal affairs,» the statement says.

The heads of state stand for the speedy development by a special open intergovernmental committee of experts under the auspices of the UN of a comprehensive international convention.

The Presidents recognize the need for further coordination of the activities of both states on the internationalization of the management of the Internet information and telecommunications network, including in order to ensure equal rights for all states to participate in the management of the Network and enhance the role of the International Telecommunication Union in such management.
