Wanted for economic crime citizens of China detained in Osh

Citizens of China, who were on the international wanted list through Interpol, were detained in Osh city. Press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.

«On December 6, employees of the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Department of Internal Affairs of the southern capital carried out joint active search measures to detain persons put on the international wanted list. The wanted citizens of the PRC, 59-year-old L.Yu. and 55-year-old Sh.G. were detained,» the statement says.

They have been wanted by law enforcement agencies of Shaanxi province since 2020 for committing an economic crime under Article 176 (Illegal Attraction of Deposits of Population) of the PRC’s Criminal Code. They embezzled 17.44 million yuan (approximately $2.5 million). More than 40 victims are registered in the case.

The detainees were placed in the temporary detention center of the Osh Department of Internal Affairs. The issue of their extradition is being considered.
