MP Chingiz Azhibaev proposes amendments to the law on the status of Batken region. The draft amendments have been submitted for public discussion.
Earlier, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the State Program for ensuring security and socio-economic development of Batken region until 2035. It is aimed at ensuring the security of the state, strengthening the border, solving the problems of border areas, stimulating social and economic development, improving the living conditions of the population living in the border areas, creating the necessary conditions for permanent residence and reducing the level of internal migration among the population of border areas.
However, the terms of implementation, according to the deputy, do not meet the requirements, development and today’s realities of the region’s life.
Chingiz Azhibaev noted that the deadlines should be specific and efficient, taking into account the emergency situation in the region, which periodically arises due to environmental problems, as well as due to unresolved issues on the delimitation and demarcation of the border with Tajikistan. He proposes to provide additional annual subsidies in the amount of 1.5 billion soms.
