International Day of Persons with Disabilities: President addresses Kyrgyzstanis

President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov delivered an address on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Press service of the head of state reported.

Sadyr Japarov recalled that on December 3 Kyrgyzstan celebrates the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and holds events aimed at supporting citizens with disabilities, drawing public attention to their needs and problems.

«Our people, living by values and adhering to traditions, have been showing mercy and benevolent attitude towards citizens with disabilities since ancient times. There are many people in our society who have such valuable human qualities. The state is today engaged in a qualitative change in the living conditions of about 200,000 people with disabilities. We need to form and develop the concept of transition to active policy measures to support them in the form of various social payments. The public should be aware that helping people with disabilities is, first of all, a noble human quality,» he said.

People with disabilities need education, health care, social security, recreation, sports and work. The President promised to create the necessary conditions for them.

«You will feel that there is an opportunity to benefit society, since you have special strong-willed qualities, skills and, not succumbing to the challenges of life, achieve significant success and can live a full life. I wish you all the achievement of your goals! Be sure the state will support you. I wish you courage, fortitude and strength of will!» he concluded.
