Over 137,000 girls vaccinated against human papillomavirus in Kyrgyzstan

As of November 30, at least 137,345 girls have been vaccinated against the human papillomavirus (HPV) in Kyrgyzstan. The Ministry of Health reported.

This is 57 percent of the target group.

Vaccination of 11-14-year-old girls against HPV began, according to the preventive vaccination schedule, from November 14. The girls are vaccinated in schools free of charge. The vaccine is administered twice with an interval of six months.

In total, it is planned to cover at least 90 percent of adolescents in the target group (about 228,000 people). Some parents of teenage girls have already refused vaccination.
