The UN Human Rights Council rejected a draft resolution on the violation of the rights of the Muslims living in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. Website of the organization says.
The Chinese envoy in Geneva described the decision as «the real intention to use UN human rights bodies to interfere in China’s internal affairs and use Xinjiang issues to contain China.»
The resolution was supported by the countries of Europe and the USA. Muslim majority states, including Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, voted against.
