At least 640 houses in Batken region are in need of repairs after the conflict at Kyrgyz-Tajik border. Media Headquarters of the Kyrgyz Republic reports.
According to it, all houses will be repaired and rebuilt.
About 423 houses are unsuitable for living, 217 are in need of repairs. At least 11 administrative and strategic facilities, 27 social buildings, 335 outbuildings, 197 warehouses, 61 cars and one bridge were also damaged.
«Some 160 houses unsuitable for living were demolished in Batken region. 237 employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, 41 units of special equipment and 26 units of equipment of local authorities have been involved,» the Media Headquarters informed.
Emergency situation has been introduced in Batken region. Shooting began at several sites of the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan on the morning of September 16. Settlements in Leilek and Batken district came under fire. The Ministry of Health reported 198 victims, 62 people were killed. As a result of the armed conflict on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border, residents of seven villages in Batken and Leilek districts, as well as Dzhekendi village in Chon-Alai district of Osh region, left their homes.
The Prosecutor General’s Office of Kyrgyzstan opened a criminal case on crimes against peace.
