Akyl Aitbaev, an activist and member of the Political Council of Butun Kyrgyzstan party, was summoned for interrogation for social media posts about the Kyrgyz-Uzbek border. He himself told 24.kg news agency.
According to him, he received the summons to appear for interrogation at the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs at 4 p.m.
«I was told that the interrogation concerned my statements on Kempir-Abad reservoir. I am from Uzgen and I am against the decision of the authorities on Kempir-Abad. I think that the reservoir should be completely under the control of Kyrgyzstan. There was information that the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan and the head of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan signed an agreement on the border. I wrote a post on my Facebook page. I have received the summons in the morning,» he wrote.
It should be noted that the residents of Uzgen have repeatedly opposed the protocol signed in Tashkent on several sections of the border, including Kempir-Abad. At a meeting with them, the Chairman of the State Committee for National Security of the Kyrgyz Republic Kamchybek Tashiev promised to revise the agreement with Uzbekistan.
Earlier, another member of the same party, Mirlan Uraimov, was detained and is being kept in custody. He also raised the issue of Kempir-Abad reservoir.
