Akylbek Japarov: Each minister and deputy builds schools in his region

«Each deputy, each minister builds schools in his region, and there are problems with a lack of schools in Bishkek,» Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers Akylbek Japarov said today at the opening of school No. 76.

According to him, there are 176,000 schoolchildren in Bishkek, 41,000 — in Sokuluk district, and more than 100,000 in Alamedin and Issyk-Ata districts. Many of them come to Bishkek to study. Because of this, there are 40-50 people in each class, children study in three shifts. They don’t get a high quality education. Therefore, the President instructed to build new schools in the capital.

He recalled that 2.5 billion soms were allocated from the state budget until autumn for the construction of 15 secondary schools and one kindergarten in Bishkek, and the City Hall allocated 500 million soms. In total, there are 245 dilapidated schools in Kyrgyzstan, two of them in Bishkek — No. 75 and 76. They are working now.

«We will fulfill the instructions of the President, we will open 15 new schools and one kindergarten. Thanks to this, children will study only in two shifts. Let’s solve one big problem. This year, teachers’ salaries have been doubled, and teachers’ salaries in highland areas have been tripled. We will continue to create favorable conditions for their work. Yesterday we opened lyceum school No. 75, today it is the turn of the school No. 76, the building of which was constructed almost 90 years ago. This is a great joy not only for students and teachers, but also for us. Develop, get the necessary knowledge, the time dictates new challenges. The future of each of you and the future of the country as a whole depends on the desire for knowledge and perseverance,» Akylbek Japarov concluded.
