The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has submitted for public discussion a draft resolution on the cost of consular services for the issuance of a document of a compatriot with foreign citizenship — Meken Card in diplomatic missions and consular offices.
It is clarified that the institution of assigning the status of a compatriot with foreign citizenship to representatives of foreign states, former Kyrgyzstanis, their children and grandchildren was introduced in 2020. But the implementation of the mechanism has not been worked out.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs approved the procedure for granting, exchange, termination and deprivation of the status of a compatriot with foreign citizenship.
According to the draft resolution, an application for obtaining this status is submitted:
- In case of filing an application on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic — to the territorial divisions or Public Service Centers;
- In case of applying outside the Kyrgyz Republic — to the foreign institutions of the country.
Issuing Meken Cards service costs 3,400 soms. The payment will be charged in dollars at the average exchange rate of the Ministry of Finance.
