Volunteers and activists should be involved in the search for missing children and girls, who may have been kidnapped for marriage. Ombudswoman Atyr Abdrakhmatova proposed this at a meeting of Ata Zhurt Kyrgyzstan parliamentary faction.
According to her, volunteers and activists can help the police find both the victim and the possible perpetrator faster.
«These measures will also increase legal literacy among the population. State bodies need to develop a clear, understandable and accessible algorithm for everyone when the police receive information about violence against children or kidnapping of girls for marriage. This should also include a procedure of interaction with volunteers,» Atyr Abdrakhmatova said.
