Akylbek Japarov tells what to be built on territory of former prison colony 47

The head of the Cabinet Akylbek Japarov got acquainted with the demolition work on the territory of the former prison colony. The Ministry of Emergency Situations demolishes the building, clears the area and prepares it for construction.

«The main reason for relocation of the prison colony is its obsolete buildings that do not meet modern standards for penitentiary institutions, location of the institution in a densely populated area of ​​the city, which threatens public safety,» the statement says.

Akylbek Japarov got acquainted with several projects of a multi-apartment social housing complex designed to accommodate 5,000-10,000 people.

Director of the State Agency for Architecture, Construction, Housing and Communal Services, Nurtazin Dzhetybaev, told that a project for a future construction site on the area of ​​8.5 hectares has been developed. It includes educational institutions and kindergartens, social housing that meets international standards.

«Construction on the site will begin next year. Investors will be attracted to the implementation of the project,» the head of the Cabinet said.

He noted that it is planned to move correctional facilities located in Bishkek outside the capital within five years.
