E-school for home-schooled students planned to be launched in Kyrgyzstan

It is planned to launch an e-school for children who are home-schooled in Kyrgyzstan. The head of the School Education Policy and Book Publishing Department of the Ministry of Education and Science, Samarkul Umralieva, told at a briefing on Wednesday.

According to the results of the last academic year, there were 2,000 such children in the republic, she said. They cannot study and socialize in a general education school due to illness. They are visited daily by teachers at home, they are taught according to the general education program.

«This year, our priority is to launch one e-school in pilot mode. We are considering the issues of forming a class. Perhaps, there will be 15 people, and possibly 25. The amount of funding was calculated, it turned out to be very large, since the purchase of video cameras and other technical equipment is required. We plan to launch it for 100 children, from 5th to 9th grade. We are forming classrooms for teachers at the premises of the lyceum No. 4 in Bishkek,» Samarkul Umralieva said.

The second priority area is the children of migrants who live in Russia, Kazakhstan or other countries, but do not get education there.

«We have children who have returned from Russia and live with their grandparents, their parents are in migration. Last year, for example, one girl was supposed to finish the second grade, but did not learn. There are five such people who applied to the Ministry of Education. Their fate worries us very much. We are registering, we plan to register up to 25 people,» Samarkul Umralieva added.
