The Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Asadov expressed his condolences to the Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Japarov in connection with the death of Kyrgyzstanis in a traffic accident in Russia. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
«I am deeply shocked by the news of the death and injury of citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic as a result of a traffic accident in Ulyanovsk Oblast of Russia. I express my deepest condolences to you, the families and friends of the victims, to the entire fraternal people of Kyrgyzstan, and wish a speedy recovery to the victims,» Ali Asadov’s message says.
At least 16 people were killed in a traffic accident in Ulyanovsk Oblast of Russia, 14 of them are citizens of Kyrgyzstan. Three Kyrgyzstanis survived. Their condition is assessed as serious.
The minibus with Kyrgyzstanis was literally squeezed between two heavy trucks. The truck driver, who caused the fatal accident, also died.
By the decision of the President, August 23 was declared a Day of Mourning in Kyrgyzstan.
