March of people with disabilities started in Cholpon-Ata city in Issyk-Kul region of Kyrgyzstan. Press service of the Ministry of Labour, Social Security and Migration reported.
The head of the ministry, Kudaibergen Bazarbaev, noted that maximum attention is paid to this category of citizens now.
«The President has doubled the size of allowances for children and adults with disabilities. Allowances for children from low-income families have been increased by 50 percent. From December 1, 2021, personal assistants for the care of persons with disabilities receive 6,300 soms per month. This service is received by 8,500 children. From June 1, 2022, the services of a personal assistant have become available for people with a disability since childhood of group I (over 18 years old), who need constant care and supervision,» he said.
The official noted that construction of state rehabilitation centers has also begun.
The march takes place under the slogan «Nothing for us without us!» at the initiative of the Union of People with Disabilities Equality.
