Acting Health Minister tells about air medical service problem

It is vital for Kyrgyzstan to purchase at least 7-8 helicopters, based on the size of the population and taking into account the mountainous terrain. The Acting Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Zharkynbek Kasymbekov, told 24.kg news agency.

According to him, in emergency cases, helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sometimes used, but the Ministry of Health does not have a helicopter now.

«I will propose this to the president as future plans. There will be no development of medicine without serious investments,» he said.

When asked how much money would be needed to purchase the equipment, the official replied that these were not exorbitant prices, as it was before.

«Now it is quite affordable, there are good options made in Russia and other countries. The main thing is that there should be medical equipment inside. It is possible to provide places for 2-3 medical workers and two lying places. As for the pilots, there will certainly be such specialists, especially since we have a school,» Zharkynbek Kasymbekov added.
