Tourists will be able to cross the Kyrgyz-Tajik border at the checkpoints again. Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism Kiyal Kenzhematova told 24.kg news agency.
According to her, from now on, citizens of third countries and citizens of Tajikistan, participating in various official and public events on the territory of Kyrgyzstan, can cross the border at Kulundu-Avtodorozhny, Kairagach-Avtodorozhny, Kyzyl-Bel-Avtodorozhny, Bordobo-Avtodorozhny and Karamyk-Avtodorozhny checkpoints.
She stressed that the lists of tourists are sent to the Department of Tourism, which, in turn, sends a request to the Border Service. It may take 1-2 days.
«The procedure for crossing the border is the same. That is, if tourists need to obtain visas to stay in our country, then they must have them. They will be passed on the basis of a request in both directions,» Kiyal Kenzhematova explained.
These checkpoints have been closed since April 29, 2021 both for citizens of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and third countries with the exception of persons indicated in the order of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic (after clashes on the Kyrgyz-Tajik border).
