The fourth meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan was held in Baku. Press service of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.
The parties discussed issues related to cooperation in trade, economic, cultural, humanitarian, transport and logistics areas, in the field of agriculture and food security, as well as labor, social and migration sectors.
Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Bakyt Torobaev noted that in order to expand trade, economic and investment relations between the two countries, it is necessary to take appropriate measures that could help increase the volume of bilateral trade.
In turn, the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan Ali Ahmadov expressed Baku’s readiness for comprehensive cooperation with Kyrgyzstan.
The parties discussed implementation of the agreements reached following the official visit of Sadyr Japarov to Azerbaijan in April 2022, as well as the return state visit of the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev to the Kyrgyz Republic.
The parties expressed interest in establishing a Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani Development Fund. They believe that this will serve as a powerful impetus for enhancing and expanding cooperation in the investment field, strengthening business ties and developing small and medium-sized businesses.
In addition, an agreement was reached to prepare a draft five-year comprehensive program for the development of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan.
