A briefing on the 4th Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia, which took place on July 21 in Cholpon-Ata city, was held in Beijing. Press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan reported.
The results of the summit were presented to the leadership of the Foreign Ministry of China, the diplomatic corps of foreign missions in Beijing, experts and journalists on the basis of the SCO Secretariat.
Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to China Kanaiym Baktygulova provided detailed information on the results and significance of the meeting of heads of state in Cholpon-Ata. In particular, the agreement of the presidents of the five countries to combine their efforts for ensuring peace in the region and creation of favorable conditions for the development of the states of Central Asia was noted.
On July 21, Cholpon-Ata hosted a Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia. A few days before the summit, interesting documents appeared on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan, including «On signing of the Treaty between the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and the Republic of Uzbekistan on friendship, good neighborliness and cooperation for the development of Central Asia in the 21st century».
Tajikistan and Turkmenistan did not sign the document.
