Activities of clandestine Hizb ut-Tahrir cell suppressed in Bishkek

Activities of a clandestine Hizb ut-Tahrir cell were suppressed in Bishkek on July 25. Press center of the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan (SCNS) reported.

«It was established that the functionaries of the neutralized cell were secretly engaged in agitation and propaganda activities in order to replenish the ranks of the extremist underground, and also recruited new adherents into the ranks of Hizb ut-Tahrir,» the statement says.

A large number of printed publications and other material evidence of extremist activity were found and confiscated during a search in the houses of the main leaders of the cell and their accomplices.

Three leaders were detained and placed in the temporary detention center of the SCNS. The investigation is ongoing.
