Kyrgyzstan purchases 720 tons of winter wheat seeds from Russia

Kyrgyzstan has purchased a large batch of seeds of two promising winter wheat varieties of Russian breeding. Industry portal Grain Online reports.

According to it, officials of Rosselkhoznadzor Department for Oryol and Kursk Oblasts carried out quarantine phytosanitary control of 720 tons of winter wheat seeds of Alekseich ES and Timiryazevka ES varieties, intended for shipment by rail to Kyrgyzstan.

According to the results of pre-shipment control, all products met the established requirements. The phytosanitary state, varietal and sowing qualities of the seeds are confirmed by conclusions on the quarantine phytosanitary state of quarantineable products and test reports.

According to the FAO, the total grain production in the Kyrgyz Republic in 2022 is projected at about 1.7 million tons, which is 3 percent above the five-year average level.
