The Bishkek City Court considered a complaint by lawyers against a measure of restraint in form of arrest against the Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan Alymkadyr Beishenaliev.
Previously, they asked to change the measure of restraint for the official to one not related to arrest.
Leaving the deliberations room, the judge read out the decision, according to which Alymkadyr Beishenaliev was placed under house arrest.
The Prosecutor General’s Office opened seven criminal cases against the Minister of Health. One criminal case was initiated on corruption, two — on extortion, and four — on abuse of official position and conclusion of a knowingly unprofitable contract.
Alymkadyr Beishenaliev was placed in the pre-trial detention center of the State Committee for National Security until July 2.
President Sadyr Japarov announced creation of a commission on the case of Alymkadyr Beishenaliev to find out whether the case was justified. «The commission will only get acquainted with the materials of the case, and they will give me information. After that, we will draw conclusions,» he stressed.
The head of state suspended Prosecutor General Kurmankul Zulushev from his post until the end of the proceedings.
